WHO WE ARE | SERVING THE BAY AREA AND BEYOND SINCE 2003
OUR MISSION
Health Career College's mission to provide a quality, affordable career-focused education to Bay Area residents. HCC strives to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, training, and confidence necessary for pursuing successful health careers in the 21st century.
OUR STORY
Health Career College (HCC) was launched in 2003 by Dr. Nieto Baluyut, a physician and professor of Anatomy & Physiology, to meet the increasing demand for healthcare training in the San Francisco Bay Area. Given his background in medicine, Dr. Baluyut was motivated to train future health-care professionals with the same diligence and precision that he received in his own medical training. Breaking complex medical concepts into easy to remember formulas and sharing stories of his own experiences in the hospital, Dr. Baluyut ensures each student walks away from HCC with knowledge they will be able to remember and apply for a lifetime. Since 2003, Health Career College has helped over 6,000 students reach their career goals in the health field, with some even continuing on to Physician Assistant, Nursing, and Medical School.

The conference rooms at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (Martinez, CA) were used for HCC's first cohorts. Students continue to complete phlebotomy externship in the CCRMC lab today.
COMMITMENT TO OUR STUDENTS
With small class-sizes, our staff is able to make our students a priority. We truly understand that students have different life experiences, and represent many age groups, cultural backgrounds, careers, and educational expertise. We welcome all students to share their perspectives, challenge each other, and ask questions. Getting to know our students allows us to best serve and address their professional goals and academic needs.
