Phlebotomy Technician
The Phlebotomy Technician Program is for the motivated adult wanting a new medical career as a certified Phlebotomist in 14 weeks. This course includes individual skill training and externship in a hospital setting. The program is composed of 133 hour didactic and lab with a 40 hour externship in our affiliate laboratory and hospital. Students are required by DHS/LFS to obtain a minimum 50 venipunctures and 10 dermal skin punctures. All clinical experience will be supervised by an approved phlebotomy instructor
Program Objective:
It is the goal of Health Career College to provide a Phlebotomy Technician Program that meets the requirements set forth by the Department of Health and Laboratory Field Services which entitles graduates to their certificate as a Phlebotomy Technician and qualification to apply for registration with the state of California. The goal of the externship is to enhance the learning process and ensure opportunities for the participant to observe and demonstrate knowledge in the role of the Phlebotomy Technician

(SS) Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM to 4:30PM for 10 weekends
(MWF) Monday, Wednesday, Friday Evening 5:30 pm to 9:30pm for 10 weeks after completing the above didactics and passing the NHA Phlebotomy Exam students must complete 40 hours of Clinical Externship at our local affiliate labs.
